Group Medical Fitness
We believe that everyone deserves to achieve optimum fitness and health. At HealthMatrix, we offer group medical fitness classes to help you reach your goals. We offer a wide range of classes for every fitness level and need so you can feel confident about improving your health.
Since these classes are offered here at our office, you can rest assured that any questions you have about whether the class is right for you or if you are medically ready for it can be answered by our doctor or nurse practitioner. Zumba and Kickboxing
At HealthMatrix, we offer both Zumba® and Kickboxing classes! Zumba® combines high and low-intensity moves for an energetic way to be active while having fun. Harnessing the rhythm of Latin and World music, Zumba® hardly feels like a workout at all, but an exciting dance party, instead. It integrates cardio, muscle conditioning, flexibility, and balance into a powerful and energizing workout.
Kickboxing is another exciting, fun fitness option we offer that originated as a combination of karate and boxing. It can help you increase your cardio, strength, coordination, and confidence. Even if you’ve never been to a kickboxing class before, that’s ok! We can accommodate everyone from beginners to advanced kickboxers.

Fitness Testing (VO2 Max)
VO2 max fitness testing checks for the maximum amount of oxygen you can utilize during intense cardiovascular exercise. It is considered one of the best indicators of overall cardiovascular fitness as well as aerobic endurance. Simply put, the higher the level of oxygen a person can use while exercising, the more energy they can produce.
We measure this by placing a face mask on you while you’re exercising on a treadmill or stationary bike. The intensity of the workout increases in intervals and the mask measures gas concentrations of the air you are breathing in and out. Additionally, we track your heart rate, which, when compared to your resting heart rate, can indicate what your target heart rate should be while exercising. Combining this information gives us an accurate picture of your current fitness level and helps us advise you on how to improve it.
